Senior DevOps Engineer

Job Summary
Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines to support software development and deployment workflows. Maintain and optimize cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP, alongside container orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes. Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform or Ansible while monitoring performance via Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog. Collaborate with engineering teams to improve build, deployment, and release processes, ensuring system reliability and security across all environments. Participate in on-call rotations and incident response. This role supports a collaborative, international team in Heidelberg, Germany, focusing on cutting-edge DevOps and cloud technologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in a DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure role
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Bash, Python)
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible, or similar)
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to Heidelberg, Germany or in Germany (Remote)
Desired Qualifications
- Fluent in English; German at B2 level or above is a strong advantage
- Knowledge of security best practices and DevSecOps
- Experience with serverless architecture or hybrid/multi-cloud environments
- Certification in AWS, Azure, or GCP
