Job Summary
Test all audio elements for correct playback, timing, triggering, and looping across gameplay, UI, cinematics, and Wwise systems. Verify that assets align with design requirements by identifying missing, duplicated, or improperly formatted files. Assess quality and platform compatibility by checking loudness balance, mix consistency, distortion, and device-specific performance. Document and manage audio defects in Jira with detailed reproduction steps and priority classifications. Collaborate with audio designers and developers to verify fixes, execute regression passes, and maintain test cases.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with audio middleware such as Wwise or FMOD
- Experience with DAWs such as Reaper or Pro Tools
- Strong understanding of audio fundamentals including EQ, compression, gain staging, and spatial audio
- Proven ability to identify audio defects, artifacts, implementation issues, and deviations from creative direction with exceptional attention to detail
- Experience creating and executing test cases, applying QA methodologies, and managing defects throughout the bug lifecycle using tools such as Jira
- Familiarity with game development tools and workflows, including Unreal Engine, Confluence, and testing across PC and console platforms
- Strong written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with audio, design, and engineering teams
Desired Qualifications
- Previous game audio QA or audio production experience
- Knowledge of interactive audio systems
- Knowledge of localization QA
- Knowledge of accessibility standards
