Job Summary
Senior Development Manager responsible for end-to-end management of assigned residential development projects (low-rise, mid-rise, redevelopment, infill) from visioning and planning approvals through leasing, building permits, and occupancy. Lead budgeting, scheduling, and financial reporting; coordinate with consultants, municipal staff, politicians, and external stakeholders to secure approvals and align with budget and schedule. Oversee preparation and submission of development applications (e.g., official plan amendments, zoning by-law amendments, condominium plans), manage site/building drawings and data for iterative analysis, and collaborate with Sales & Marketing to support pre-leasing and construction starts. Stay informed on market trends, product pricing, and demand to inform programmatic options, while maintaining strong cross-functional teamwork and adherence to regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in related field (e.g. Planning, Engineering, Architecture)
- minimum of 4-6 years of experience in Real Estate development
- Residential development experience required
- Knowledge of planning policy in other provinces asset
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to collaborate across departments and levels of the organization
- Independent proactive self-starter with multi-project management capacity
- Professional certifications such as CIP, OAA, PMP or LEED AP would be assets
