Job Summary
Senior Development Editor, High School leads complex content initiatives from idea to execution, coordinating internal teams, authors/contributors, vendors, and contractors to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality, inclusive teaching and learning materials. Responsibilities include project planning and scheduling, content development from core text revisions to new courseware, budgeting and cost efficiency, cross-functional collaboration with editors, program/product managers, and production partners, and managing handoffs between stakeholders. The role emphasizes market-focused instructional approaches, teacher and learner needs, and leveraging new technologies and AI to drive editorial work, with occasional travel to conferences or to meet authors and customers. The position anchors the operational core of content development and production, ensuring alignment with customer and learner needs while supporting AP and high school markets. Travel is occasional; remote work is eligible with certain location exclusions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum 4-5 years editorial experience or similar field
- Flexible outlook, growth mindset, ability to embrace change; enthusiastic about using new technology systems, AI, new processes, and new ways of working
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, quality, and on-time delivery
- Deep commitment to developing inclusive content designed to reach and represent all learners
- Proven innovative, strategic thinking
