Job Summary
Provide strategic advice on Pacific development and regional agencies outcomes. Lead New Zealand’s relationship with the Pacific’s largest regional organisation. Manage the Pacific Community (SPC) partnership, funding, and high-level regional engagement globally. Prepare Ministers and managers for and represent New Zealand at key Pacific Community meetings. Contribute to the development of policy advice on international development issues, with a focus on sector policy and thematic areas. Represent New Zealand in international or regional forums, particularly in the Pacific, and support team capability and collaboration. Wellington-based – Permanent full time. The salary range is $127,417 to $149,902 total remuneration, inclusive of KiwiSaver, and appointment will depend on experience.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in international development policy and programme design
- Experience contributing to complex policy initiatives or investment planning
- Experience representing New Zealand in international or regional forums, particularly in the Pacific
- Experience supporting team capability and collaboration
- Good understanding of international development policy frameworks and sector strategies
- Understanding of The Treaty of Waitangi/Te Tiriti, Te Reo Māori and Māori customs and protocols would be beneficial
- NZ citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance
