Job Summary

Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using .NET Core and Python, building RESTful APIs and modernizing legacy Windows environments within Microsoft Azure. Manage CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps and apply DevSecOps practices including SAST/DAST scanning and secure development standards. Participate in code reviews, produce technical documentation, and ensure solutions meet WCAG AA accessibility requirements while collaborating with architects and delivery managers. Secure (SC) clearance is mandatory, with sponsorship available for eligible British nationals or those with five years' UK residency. On-site work in Taunton, Somerset, is required for two days per week.

Required Qualifications

  • SC (Security Check) clearance is mandatory
  • Candidates must be eligible to obtain SC clearance
  • British nationality or a minimum of 5 years' UK residency
  • Strong hands-on C# with solid grasp of OOP, design patterns, and SOLID principles
  • Experience building production-grade applications in both .NET Core and Framework environments
  • .NET Core 10.0 & .NET Framework 4.8
  • Python - Production-Grade Experience
  • Proficiency with Astral UV, virtual environments, and Python dependency management
  • Ability to build, maintain, and deploy Python-based services and tooling
  • JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Microsoft Azure - Cloud-Native Development Experience
  • Azure DevOps - CI/CD Pipeline Design and Management
  • Infrastructure as Code - Terraform and/or Bicep
  • Containerisation - Docker and/or Kubernetes
  • RESTful API design, development, and life cycle management
  • Secure development - SAST/DAST tooling, code review, OWASP awareness
  • Technical documentation to a high standard
  • On-site in Taunton, Somerset - 2 days per week minimum

Desired Qualifications

  • Legacy Windows technologies - Win32, WPF, MFC/ATL, COM, MSI packaging
  • Geospatial data formats - GeoJSON, MBTiles, GML
  • Familiarity with MOD Secure by Design and NCSC software security standards
  • Experience working in UK public sector or government digital services
  • Python geospatial tooling or data pipeline experience
