Job Summary

Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using .NET Core and Python while building and consuming RESTful APIs within a Microsoft Azure environment. Contribute to CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, applying DevSecOps practices including SAST/DAST scanning and dependency management. Support legacy system modernisation by migrating from older Windows and .NET Framework environments, ensuring all solutions meet WCAG AA accessibility standards. Produce technical documentation, participate in code reviews, and collaborate with architects and delivery managers within an agile squad. Work on-site in Taunton, Somerset, for a minimum of two days per week. Security Clearance (SC) is mandatory, with sponsorship provided upon appointment.

Required Qualifications

  • SC (Security Check) clearance
  • Eligibility to obtain SC clearance
  • British nationality or a minimum of 5 years' UK residency
  • Strong hands-on C#
  • Solid grasp of OOP, design patterns, and SOLID principles
  • Experience building production-grade applications in both .NET Core and Framework environments
  • .NET Core 10.0
  • .NET Framework 4.8
  • Python - Production-Grade Experience
  • Proficiency with Astral UV, virtual environments, and Python dependency management
  • Ability to build, maintain, and deploy Python-based services and tooling
  • JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Microsoft Azure - Cloud-Native Development Experience
  • Azure DevOps - CI/CD Pipeline Design and Management
  • Infrastructure as Code - Terraform and/or Bicep
  • Containerisation - Docker and/or Kubernetes
  • RESTful API design, development, and life cycle management
  • Secure development - SAST/DAST tooling, code review, OWASP awareness
  • Technical documentation to a high standard
  • On-site in Taunton, Somerset - 2 days per week minimum

Desired Qualifications

  • Legacy Windows technologies - Win32, WPF, MFC/ATL, COM, MSI packaging
  • Geospatial data formats - GeoJSON, MBTiles, GML
  • Familiarity with MOD Secure by Design and NCSC software security standards
  • Experience working in UK public sector or government digital services
  • Python geospatial tooling or data pipeline experience
