Job Summary
Senior Developer, Agentic AI Engineering at Workday leading end-to-end development of AI-powered translation and agentic capabilities within Workday Agentic platforms. Own problem framing, data contracts, model/tool selection, prompts, evaluations, safety, cost/latency optimization, and lifecycle governance for customer-facing AI services. Design and build AI-powered translation self-help solutions to globalize Workday AI Agents and Customer Solutions, with emphasis on production reliability and business outcomes (adoption, quality, cost). Mentor teammates, demonstrate architecture and development best practices, and collaborate with PMs, Architects, linguists, and cross-functional teams to ship features at software-engineering speed. Core skills include Python production-quality code, LangGraph/LangChain, Pydantic, asyncio, pandas/NumPy, cloud SDKs, HTTP clients, testing and code-quality tooling, OO languages (Java/C#), REST/Graph APIs, and end-to-end ownership of AI-powered capabilities from framing to deployment.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years software development experience with a focus on production systems and business outcomes
- Expert proficiency in Python with production-quality code; experience with LangGraph/LangChain
- Pydantic for data modeling
- asyncio for asynchronous programming
- observability tools like LangSmith
- data manipulation libraries (pandas, NumPy)
- cloud SDKs (boto3)
- HTTP clients (requests, httpx)
- modern Python package managers (uv, poetry)
- Python testing frameworks (pytest)
- pre-commit hooks
- code quality tools (black, isort, flake8)
- production development practices, GitHub, CI/CD
- OO languages such as Java, C# or similar
- REST APIs, Graph APIs, JSON/XML
- end-to-end ownership of AI-powered features (problem framing, model/tool selection, prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks, lifecycle governance)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering preferred
- Agentic AI & Workflows experience; familiarity with agentic AI systems
- afinity for internationalization/localization or translation tech is a plus
- cloud & infrastructure experience (AWS/GCP), containers (Docker)
- customer-facing AI services focus on reliability, cost optimization, and business metrics
- globalization/translation experience is a plus
