Job Summary
Senior Designer of Women’s 5-Pocket Denim leads seasonal design execution for the Women’s 5-Pocket Denim program, driving fit, silhouette, fabric, wash, and detail development across missy, curvy, and plus fits. Manages two seasonal calendars (e.g., Fall and Holiday), mentors a small team of junior designers, and collaborates with Merchandising, Production, and Technical Design to ensure design integrity from concept through production. Performs trend research, develops silhouettes, and builds wash libraries; creates design cards with measurements and construction, approves lab dips and submits BOMs/PLM data, and maintains line sheets with in-season updates. Travels domestically and internationally as needed to support product development. Requires 8+ years of relevant experience, proficiency in design tools, strong illustration and presentation skills, and ability to lead and coach a junior team.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of apparel design experience with a focus on Women’s denim, including 5-pocket development, wash, and fabric
- Working knowledge of garment construction, denim fabrication, fit development, and wash/finishing techniques
- Proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Word, and Excel; ability to hand illustrate to convey proportion and shape
- Demonstrated ability to manage, coach, and develop junior team members; strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple seasonal calendars
- Excellent written and verbal communication; follow-through and collaboration with cross-functional teams (Merchandising, Production, Technical Design)
- Travel domestically and internationally on a seasonal basis as needed
- BA in Fashion Design or related field a plus
