Job Summary
As a Senior Designer on the Design Systems team at Bumble, you will design, evolve, and maintain system tokens, components, and patterns that emphasize accessibility and inclusivity. This role involves auditing product experiences to enhance design quality, collaborating with engineering for seamless integration of design and code, and creating insightful system documentation. You will advocate for safe and accessible design patterns while supporting product teams in adopting the design system. A crucial aspect of the role is utilizing AI-assisted insights to iterate and improve on the design system, aligning with Bumble's values of Respect and Courage.
Required Qualifications
- Typically requires 7–9 years of experience using and maintaining or contributing to product design systems
- Empathy for diverse users and design with inclusion, accessibility, and safety in mind
- Ability to take ownership of work end-to-end and collaborate across functions
- Curiosity about improving design system workflows using AI
Desired Qualifications
- Experience designing and scaling component libraries, tokens, and patterns across multiple products or teams
- Strong proficiency in Figma, including components, variants, variable collections, libraries, and documentation workflows
- Experience with Tokens Studio
- Ability to explain trade-offs and rationale clearly to build trust and alignment with designers and engineers
- Familiarity with AI-powered tools to support design exploration and documentation
