Senior Designer (Civil 3D)

Job Summary
Draft, edit, and finalize design plans and details using AutoCAD Civil 3D, translating abstract concepts into grading layouts, plan profiles, and section views for civil and geotechnical projects. Analyze sketches and notes to determine the best approach for modeling tasks, then manage the production of drawing sets through creation, markup, and modification. Collaborate with Autodesk Construction Cloud to review completed work products and ensure quality while participating in the CAD Action Group to improve company standards. Read and interpret red line drawings from project team members and incorporate land or aerial surveying data for landfill, roadway, and stormwater infrastructure designs.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of Associate's degree in Drafting
- Minimum of 10 years in a professional civil engineering or consulting setting
- Proficiency in the use of the latest release of AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Experience developing and working with survey data, grading plans, cross-sections, alignments, profiles, three-dimensional TIN surfaces, and earthwork volumes for landfills and other large civil design projects
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret red line drawings from Engineers, CAD Managers, or others on the project team members
- Experience using/incorporating land or aerial surveying/mapping data and files
- Strong reasoning, mathematical, and geometrical skills
- Understanding of Microsoft Office applications, including Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Strong communication skills to include the ability to understand and follow complex verbal and written instructions, and the ability to interact effectively to maintain a team environment
- Strong organizational skills
- Candidates will be expected to take a 3rd party Civil 3D assessment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Autodesk Revit
- Experience with interoperability between Civil 3D and Revit
- Civil / Environmental experience with landfill, roadway, and stormwater infrastructure design projects
- Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D certification (or the ability to become certified within one year of hire date)
