Senior Design Sculptor – Digital Lead

Job Summary
Execute digital models meeting time and quality requirements for assigned programs while taking ownership of safety concerns. Create high-quality aesthetic surfaces throughout the Global Vehicle Development Process and support surface releases that satisfy Design approval, production engineering, and data release needs. Facilitate WSR and DSR meetings, track and escalate sculpting and engineering issues, and foster collaboration using Teamcenter and SharePoint. Lead creative teams on smaller scope programs starting pre-PFI, ensuring all deliverables are measurable, timely, and cost-effective. Adhere to common GM Global Design processes and best practices while attending relevant program-related meetings as defined by the Sculpting Group Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field of study
- Ten (10) years of experience as a Digital Sculptor, Digital Design Manager, Industrial Design Engineer, or related role
- Ten (10) years of experience with the following: Determining timing requirements for GVDP model execution
- Ten (10) years of experience with the following: NX/Alias software
- Ten (10) years of experience with the following: Automotive production and manufacturing processes
- Ten (10) years of experience with the following: Die pull, Draft, Graining, Parting Line Gap, Flush, and Formability requirements
- Ten (10) years of experience with the following: Vehicle packaging and integration requirements
- Ten (10) years of experience with the following: Led creative teams on a minimum of 3-5 assignments for smaller scope programs starting pre-PFI
- Ten (10) years of experience with the following: Creating and refining digital automotive component models in collaboration with engineers and designers
- Ten (10) years of experience with the following: Utilizing local digital math surfacing, virtual reality design, and digital modeling capabilities
