Senior Design Manager, Mixed-Use

Job Summary
Sponsor design issues from concept through construction while communicating project goals, aesthetics, and budget constraints to the AE consultant team. Manage the AE consultant team by establishing scope, preparing contracts, and processing invoices. Review design concepts and drawings to provide feedback and alternatives that meet project objectives. Establish schedules and agendas for Senior Management presentations to secure approvals. Ensure consultants adhere to design standards and operational initiatives. Evaluate retailer lease requirements and participate in value engineering sessions. Conduct site visits to review construction progress, mock-ups, and resolve design issues. Provide design input for furnishings, fixtures, and signage installation. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Architecture with 15 years of experience in mixed-use development.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience with low rise multi-family residential buildings
- Working knowledge of mixed-use building types including Office, hotel, and parking decks
- Demonstrated experience with basic building planning principals including: typical building foot prints, unit layouts, typical structural bay sizes, floor to floor heights, building core sizes and egress components
- Demonstrated ability to graphically communicate design solutions through both hand sketches and computer 2D/3D computer drawings
- SketchUp
- Bachelor degree in Architecture
- 15 years professional experience
- 7-10 years direct experience with multi-family residential and mixed-use building types
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience with 5 over 1, Type 3 construction
- Mid-rise experience
- Masters of Architecture
- CAD
- PhotoShop/illustrator
