Job Summary
Manage multiple facilities design and capital improvement projects, leading architects, engineers, and consultants through the design review process. Coordinate project planning, monitor progress, and review design changes to ensure compliance with LAUSD standards, scope, budget, and schedule. Provide clear direction to design teams regarding goals and performance expectations while managing contract administration and cost estimating. Requires 14 years of full-time experience in facilities design and 4 years in educational facilities; Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering required.
Required Qualifications
- 14 years of full-time paid professional experience managing facilities design or planning and coordinating capital projects, including overall design, contract administration, cost estimating, and scheduling
- At least 4 years of experience involving the design, planning, and construction of educational facilities or similar public-agency projects
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in Architecture or Engineering
- California-registered Architect or Professional Engineer (PE)
