Job Summary
Develop detailed customer and product functional requirements in collaboration with Product Managers while leading multifunctional project teams through new product development and cost reduction initiatives. Conduct engineering analysis for strength calculations, design layout, fits and tolerances, and CAD modeling, then oversee accelerated product life cycle tests, field testing, and Design Failure Modes Effects Analysis. Provide technical leadership for standard product customization, draft engineering specifications, and support manufacturing processes and prototype development. Prepare recommendations for product changes to improve sales potential or reduce costs, and deliver technical writing for manuals and instructions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Agricultural Engineering
- Five (5) years of progressive product engineering experience
Desired Qualifications
- SolidWorks experience
- Proficiency with finite element analysis (FEA) software and stress calculations
- Ability to conceptualize, formulate design possibilities and coordinate development by the project team under time and financial constraints
- Commitment to effective project leadership, coordination, and evaluation, with recommendations for changes required to improve overall results
- Music or theater background or interest
