Job Summary
Lead the design and development of complex low- and medium-voltage switchgear systems, creating elevation views, one-line diagrams, schematics, and control circuits using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical. Select electrical components, ensure designs comply with IEC, ANSI, UL, and IEEE standards, and review engineering deliverables for technical accuracy. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Design Engineers and Interns by guiding complex design challenges, protection schemes, and customer requirements while supporting training initiatives. Independently manage projects from concept through manufacturing and testing, collaborate with mechanical designers and project managers, and participate in customer technical review meetings. Assist in developing engineering standards and templates, communicate technical concepts to stakeholders, and identify process improvement opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ Years Of Experience In Switchgear Or Power Distribution Equipment Design
- Advanced Technical Expertise In Low- And Medium-Voltage Systems Up To 38kV, Including Electrical Protection And Control Systems
- Demonstrated Experience Leading Complex Engineering Projects From Concept Through Manufacturing And Testing
- Ability To Independently Manage Complex Projects With Minimal Oversight
- Experience With AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, And Microsoft Software
- Knowledge Of Relevant Electrical Standards Including IEC, IEEE, UL, NEMA, Or Similar Applicable Standards
- Bachelor Of Science Degree In Electrical Engineering Or Related Engineering Discipline
- Willingness To Work Approximately 10% Overtime As Needed
Desired Qualifications
- Hands-On Experience In Manufacturing, Testing, Commissioning, Or Field Service Of Switchgear
