Job Summary
Lead end-to-end new product development for medical devices, executing design, verification, validation, and launch while managing engineering change activities and cross-functional collaboration. Perform engineering analyses, simulations, and calculations to optimize performance, prepare comprehensive documentation including Design History Files and drawings, and apply Design for Manufacturing principles to ensure robust, cost-effective designs. Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Regulatory teams to resolve technical challenges and drive project success within scope, quality, cost, and schedule constraints.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
- 4+ years of experience in mechanical design and product development
- Experience with Creo Parametric
- Hands-on experience in 3D modelling
- Experience in drafting
- Experience in engineering drawings
- Application of GD&T
- Experience designing mechanical components
- Knowledge of machined parts
- Knowledge of sheet metal parts
- Knowledge of molded parts
- Knowledge of cast parts
- Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFM/DFA)
- Knowledge of materials selection
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of engineering calculations
- Knowledge of tolerance analysis
- Knowledge of thermal analysis/simulation
- Understanding of engineering change management processes
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM/PDM) systems, preferably Windchill
- Working knowledge of verification and validation methodologies
- Working knowledge of root cause analysis
- Working knowledge of DFMEA/PFMEA
- Working knowledge of statistical analysis tools
- Exposure to regulated product development in industries such as medical devices, consumer electronics, industrial equipment, automotive, or aerospace
