Job Summary
Manage Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) and New Technology Introduction (NTI) projects using Six Sigma DMAIC principles to define root causes, implement solutions, and validate results. Lead engine hardware design direction by guiding L3 systems engineers, conducting DFMEA's for product change validation, and directing APQP, CTS management, and VDRA resolution. Define program requirements and cost targets while configuring bill of materials and supporting factory build operations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including application, performance, component, and validation groups to ensure robust product solutions and address customer inquiries. This role supports the G3500 Engine Platform team at Lafayette Engine Center, manufacturing engines for mining, marine, and industrial applications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree related to Engineering or Engineering Technology
- Knowledge of large gas and/or diesel engine operation
- Software programs used frequently include, but not limited to: Creo, Team Center, and Microsoft Office
- Deep expertise in Caterpillar programs and processes (NPI, CPI, NTI, NSI)
- Caterpillar 6 Sigma training
- Demonstrated project leadership
- This position is based in Lafayette, IN
- Relocation assistance is available for this position

- This position may require up to 10% travel
- This position requires a 5 day in office presence
