Job Summary
Senior Design Engineer for actuators in generalist intelligent robots. Own mechanical design of motors, gear trains, and actuator housings from concept to production; ensure performance, manufacturability, cost, and reliability. Create high-fidelity CAD models and drawings with GD&T; manage tolerances, interfaces, and design for assembly/inspection. Collaborate with modeling, test, electronics, controls, and systems teams; engage with suppliers for RFQs and manufacturing issues; define test plans and support actuator characterization and iteration from data.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
- 5+ years of mechanical design experience
- Experience with precision electromechanical hardware
- Strong CAD skills (CATIA preferred) and GD&T expertise
- Experience interpreting FEA results (structural, modal, thermal)
- Ability to coordinate with suppliers and manage part delivery
- Ability to define tolerances and apply design-for-manufacturing principles
