Job Summary
Senior Design Coordinator responsible for all design and technical aspects of infrastructure projects, leading technical design processes, coordinating external consultants and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with Building Regulations, CDM Principal Designer duties, and timely, budget-conscious delivery while managing design programmes, change control, and documentation across utility and social infrastructure projects. Requires leadership, excellent communication, proficiency in CAD/BIM tools (AutoCAD/Revit), familiarity with fire safety/regulatory frameworks, and experience reviewing design information, value engineering opportunities, and coordinating with planning authorities, construction teams, and handover documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Level 4 (HNC/NVQ4 etc.) Architectural qualification (or equivalent design, technical and/or construction based qualification)
- Knowledge of Building Regulations
- CDM Principal Designer experience
- Experience with design programmes and procurement of consultant/subcontractor designers
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
- Experience with CAD (AutoCAD or Revit) and BIM
- Member of professional body (e.g. CIOB, CIAT, or RICS)
