Job Summary
Lead design and certification activities for Diamond's aeronautical products by reviewing engineering change requests, developing certification plans, and preparing test plans and analysis reports. Drive implementation of type design and manufacturing process changes to improve quality, safety, and performance. Coordinate with TCCA during type design change approval processes and support continuing airworthiness by investigating occurrences and reviewing technical publications. Mentor intermediate and junior engineers while participating in ground and flight testing to perform post-test analysis and generate compliance reports. Apply expertise in structures, mechanical, or avionics systems to support research and development for new products and designs.
Required Qualifications
- 10 years relevant Aerospace Engineering experience in aeronautical product development
- Knowledgeable in Airworthiness Manual Chapter 523 of the Canadian Aviation Regulations
- Experience performing changes to the type design of aeronautical products
- Experience with CATIA V5, AutoCAD / DraftSight, and Solid Edge
- Strong communication skills with experience in technical report writing
- Previous or current delegation experience with a civil aviation authority
- Professional Engineering Licence
- Private Pilot Licence
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position
- Structures: Airframe / system stress, aircraft loads, dynamics and flutter, materials and processes
- Mechanical: mechanical systems, powerplant, fuel and environmental systems
- Avionics and Electrical: Avionics and electrical systems, Lightning effects protection, HIRF, EMC
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in Engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position
