Job Summary
Lead the design, implementation, and delivery of large-scale capital automation projects within the Life Sciences industry, managing complete project lifecycles from system architecture through commissioning and validation. Develop scalable class-based configurations, configure DeltaV Live and Operate environments, and apply ISA-101 HMI standards and ISA-88 batch processing methodologies. Ensure solutions comply with GAMP5, cGMP, and 21 CFR Part 11 while coordinating with manufacturing, validation, and vendor teams. This onsite role in Raleigh, North Carolina requires 8–15 years of automation engineering experience and occasional travel to client sites.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 8–15 years of automation and control systems engineering experience within the Life Sciences industry.
- Demonstrated stable work history with progressive engineering responsibility.
- Proven experience delivering full lifecycle automation projects.
- Extensive hands-on Emerson DeltaV experience including System design, Configuration, Implementation, Commissioning.
- Proficiency with DeltaV Live.
- Proficiency with DeltaV Operate.
- Expertise in ISA-101 HMI design and high-performance graphics.
- Expertise in ISA-88 batch processing methodologies.
- Expertise in Historian solutions and advanced control strategies.
- Experience building scalable class-based configurations.
- Deep understanding of GAMP5 validation frameworks.
- Deep understanding of cGMP manufacturing environments.
- Deep understanding of FDA 21 CFR Part 11 compliance.
- Strong leadership and project management capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
- Ability to lead technical teams across multiple project phases.
- Onsite role based in Raleigh, North Carolina.
- Occasional travel to client or project sites may be required.
