Job Summary
Design and implement Emerson DeltaV control systems for complex Life Sciences capital projects, managing full project lifecycles from requirements gathering through commissioning and validation. Lead system architecture design, batch sequencing, and recipe structures using ISA-88 standards while developing DeltaV operator interfaces aligned with ISA-101 guidelines. Specify electrical systems, integrate instrumentation, and define industrial networking solutions including OPC UA and Ethernet/IP. Manage project schedules, budgets, and engineering resources to ensure GAMP5, cGMP, and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance. Lead Factory and Site Acceptance Testing, provide technical mentorship, and travel up to 25% for on-site support.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field
- 8–15 years of automation and control systems engineering experience within the Life Sciences industry
- Extensive hands-on experience with Emerson DeltaV system design, configuration, and implementation
- Proficiency with DeltaV Live and DeltaV Operate
- Strong expertise in ISA-88 batch processing standards
- Strong expertise in ISA-101 HMI design and high-performance graphics
- Deep understanding of GAMP5, cGMP, and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance frameworks
- Proven experience managing large capital automation projects
- Strong leadership and cross-functional communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects from design through commissioning and validation
- Travel up to 25% for commissioning and on-site support
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with the following technologies is a plus: Rockwell Automation, Inductive Automation Ignition, Siemens PCS7, Other DCS/SCADA platforms
