Job Summary
Senior Database Engineer to lead design, engineering and delivery of major database projects across Oracle, SQL Server, and Cosmos DB; govern BAU operations delivered by DXC; own database architecture standards and lifecycle roadmaps; collaborate with Cloud, Infrastructure, Security and Applications teams to drive modernization; oversee vendor management and governance for managed services; 7+ years in Database Administration in senior/lead roles; strong hands-on experience with Oracle and SQL Server in production, non-production and DR environments; experience with JD Edwards on Oracle/Azure is a major advantage; excellent stakeholder engagement and RCA/analytical skills; capable of designing and maintaining backup, recovery, HA/DR aligned to RTO/RPO; knowledge of Azure and hybrid cloud, IaC (Terraform preferred), and automation; familiarity with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions for automated deployment; able to produce architecture diagrams and runbooks.
Required Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in IT/Computer Science; Oracle or SQL Server certifications highly regarded
