Job Summary
Senior Database Engineer responsible for end-to-end administration, optimization, and operational excellence of enterprise Oracle and PostgreSQL databases. Lead configuration, patching, upgrades, performance tuning, high availability, backup/recovery design, replication strategies, and cloud-based database administration. Drive root cause analysis, monitoring, and long-term remediation, mentor junior DBAs, participate in on-call rotation, advocate for database best practices, and collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, and governance teams to ensure security and compliance. Strong hands-on expertise in Oracle/PostgreSQL, advanced SQL/PL-SQL, Linux/Unix environments, database automation, RMAN and pg_dump, monitoring tools (Dynatrace, Splunk), and cloud-based managed services; focused on reliability, scalability, and operational maturity.
