Job Summary
Senior Database Administrator (Oracle/PostgreSQL Migration) with TS/SCI clearance to support Koniag IT Systems (KITS) and a government customer in Washington, DC. The role is onsite with potential for future hybrid work. You will administer and sustain large Oracle database environments, analyze structures, support migration planning, and design PostgreSQL architectures to modernize enterprise applications. Responsibilities include Oracle-to-PostgreSQL migration, performance tuning, backup/recovery planning, security controls, DevSecOps/CI-CD collaboration, and documentation, while engaging with software engineers, architects, and infrastructure teams in classified environments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience with High School Diploma
- 7+ years of database administration experience
- Strong Oracle database administration experience
- Experience with PostgreSQL administration and development
- Experience with Oracle-to-PostgreSQL migration activities
- Experience with SQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures, triggers, and performance tuning
- Experience supporting enterprise production systems
- Experience with Windows-based server environments
- Experience with backup and recovery strategies
- Experience with database security and access controls
- Experience supporting Agile development teams
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- U.S. Citizenship required
- TS/SCI security clearance
