Job Summary
Manage SQL Server and cloud database environments by installing, configuring, and upgrading platforms while proactively monitoring availability and performance. Lead modernization initiatives, cloud migrations, and disaster recovery design, ensuring high availability through regular maintenance, patching, and capacity planning. Optimize views, stored procedures, and queries to enhance system health, and develop automation scripts to streamline operations. Collaborate with Application Development, Security, and Data teams to support enterprise systems, respond to ad hoc requests, and execute third-party deployments using Agile methodologies.
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience with SQL Server, AWS RDS, Azure database
- Hands-on expertise in replication, mirroring, SSIS, and SSRS
- Proficiency in disaster recovery planning, backup strategies, and high availability setup
- Deep knowledge of database design and architecture
- Familiarity with cloud storage solutions (e.g., AWS S3, Glacier, EFS, EBS)
- Solid understanding of performance tuning, indexing, and scripting
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- 6+ years of experience as a Database Administrator (preferably SQL Server)
- 3+ years of experience with cloud-based data solutions in production (preferably multi-cloud environments)
- Excellent problem-solving, diagnostic, and analytical skills
- Effective communicator with cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and competing demands
- Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies
- Strategic thinker with the ability to align database management with broader business objectives
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate
