Job Summary
Senior Data Specialist (Field Based) in the San Francisco Bay Area focused on data engineering, analytics, and enterprise data management. Responsibilities include designing, maintaining, and governing enterprise data models; building scalable ETL/ELT pipelines from multiple sources; creating analytics-ready datasets for dashboards and data products; writing and optimizing complex SQL; maintaining technical documentation and mentoring junior staff; validating data quality and identifying improvement opportunities; collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver analytics outputs; and leveraging cloud data environments and BI tools (Power BI/Tableau) to drive governance and insights. Requires 5+ years of relevant experience, SQL and relational DB proficiency, ETL/ELT experience, Python or R, Power Automate and Power Apps familiarity, and dashboarding experience; preferred: environmental data exposure and advanced Power BI skills. Pay range provided with benefits; located in multiple in-field California locations (Walnut Creek, San Jose, San Francisco, Northern California).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in data science, computer science, information systems, or related field
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience
- Proficiency in SQL, relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
- Hands-on experience developing or supporting ETL/ELT workflows
- Working knowledge of Python or R for data processing
- Familiarity with Power Automate and Power Apps
- Experience with Power BI or Tableau for dashboards/reports
- Experience with cloud data environments (Azure, AWS, Snowflake)
- Ability to design user-focused dashboards and robust semantic data models in Power BI (Power Query, DAX)
- Strong communication and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams
- Data QA/QC and governance documentation
