Job Summary
Senior Data Scientist – Telematics responsible for shaping how trips are turned into risk signals using high-frequency sensor data (GPS, accelerometer, gyroscope). Own behavioural features and algorithms from hypothesis to production, collaborating with software engineers, product managers, and actuaries to integrate features into pricing paths. Expect production-grade Python/SQL, experimentation leadership, feature design, and translating complex sensor data into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders. Hybrid work setup with some in-office days in London and flexible arrangements across the UK and PT.
Required Qualifications
- MSc (or integrated MEng/MSc) in a quantitative field (Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or similar)
- Strong Python and SQL (Snowflake)
- Production-grade code delivery experience (not just notebooks)
- Experience delivering data science or data engineering projects into production
- Experience developing and evaluating ML models on tabular data
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines
- Fluent with AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code)
- Strong communication skills
