Job Summary
The University of Pennsylvania's department of genetics seeks a Senior Data Scientist to design and implement clinical genomic pipelines. The role involves developing quantitative strategies to diagnose genetic disorders through genomic testing. Key responsibilities include applying computational analysis to large patient cohorts, utilizing molecular and imaging data, and working collaboratively within a team of analysts. Strong skills in programming (R, Perl, or Python) and experience in UNIX/Linux environments are required, along with a solid background in biology. A Master's degree with relevant experience is required, and a Ph.D. is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Master of Science and 1 to 2 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required
- Ph.D. preferred
- Multi-year experience (>10 years) with cloud-computing or HPC
- Practical experience with molecular or imaging data analysis

- Strong interpersonal skills
