Senior Data Scientist

Job Summary
Senior Data Scientist position to build next-generation analytics solutions using AI, machine learning, and data mining. Partner with business stakeholders to develop data-driven solutions, communicate analytics approaches and outcomes, champion data-driven decision-making, lead analytical initiatives with data engineers and developers, design scalable, interpretable models embedded into production-ready analytics products, engineer meaningful features, and share knowledge across the organization. Requires a Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years’ experience in Data Science or related field and strong Python/data-visualization skills. Familiarity with tools like Plotly, matplotlib, ggplot2; dashboarding (Shiny, Dash, Power BI) desirable; exposure to Hadoop, Spark, H2O.ai; containerisation; ability to deploy and maintain models; ability to translate business problems into technical hypotheses. The role is based in Mount Waverley, Australia with in-person work arrangement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years’ experience in Data Science or a related field
- Strong proficiency in Python, including hands-on experience working with DataFrames
- Proven experience applying Data Science techniques to large-scale datasets, including machine learning for clustering, classification, regression, and anomaly detection
- Experience with big data and cloud technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, H2O.ai; cloud-based AI platforms; containerisation is desirable
- Experience supporting deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and continuous improvement of analytical models is advantageous
- Ability to communicate analytics approaches and outcomes to stakeholders and translate business problems into technical hypotheses
