Job Summary
Senior Data Platform Engineer to own and grow the ingestion, transform, orchestration, and metrics layers that power business understanding. Lead the design and operation of pipelines pulling from third-party APIs and internal services into BigQuery; maintain DBT projects and data quality; manage Airflow-on-Kubernetes workloads; curate metric definitions and documentation for analysts, executives, and the Board; optimize BigQuery, GKE, Cloud Run, and Kafka costs; partner with finance, GTM, product, and exec stakeholders to ship dashboards and run experiments; onboard analysts and enable self-serve data workflows; set AI-enabled data workflow patterns for a small data team.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years building and operating data pipelines in production
- Strong SQL proficiency with BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift
- Strong coding skills with ETL/rETL, REST/GraphQL APIs integration
- Experience with a modern orchestrator (Airflow, Dagster, Prefect)
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in cloud environments
- Experience integrating systems across APIs, databases, and data warehouses; handling auth, pagination, schema drift, and incremental loads
- Hands-on experience with AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor)
- Ability to design, build, and own end-to-end data systems in a highly autonomous environment
