Job Summary
Senior Data Platform Engineer to maintain and improve Flix's scalable data platform infrastructure on AWS, Kubernetes, Confluent Cloud, and Snowflake. Own infrastructure-as-code with Terraform, build and refine CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, optimize workloads for performance and cost, implement comprehensive observability with Datadog, and participate in on-call duties. Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and product teams to enhance platform usability and self-service capabilities, contribute to architectural decisions and documentation, and stay aligned with secure, modern, and future-proof data platform practices. Nice-to-have experience with Snowflake or comparable cloud data warehouse solutions, network/security knowledge, and exposure to AI/ML workloads on data platforms. The role offers a hybrid work model with Berlin, Germany as a primary office location, and includes travel perks and flexible work arrangements.
Required Qualifications
- Strong data architecture experience
- Kafka knowledge (architecture and developer perspective)
- Extensive experience with scalable data platforms in complex environments
- Ownership of end-to-end infrastructure (CI/CD with GitLab, observability and monitoring with Datadog)
- Solid Terraform knowledge
- On-call experience
- Cloud provider experience (preferably AWS)
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes
- Fluent in English with strong technical communication skills
