Job Summary
Monitor automated batch job streams in an enterprise scheduler, maintaining heightened sensitivity to alerts and delays while owning the processing cycle during assigned shifts. Proactively investigate job failures, abends, and connectivity issues, escalating incidents to appropriate teams with clear context and urgency. Lead incident bridges to drive root cause analysis and provide accurate status updates during high-pressure periods like month-end and quarter-end. Manage job scheduling and change requests, ensuring new jobs are sequenced correctly and adhere to compliance standards. Intake and prioritize intraday requests via the ticketing system, communicating with clients and vendors regarding file receipt and report delivery. Document findings, impacts, and corrective actions to maintain operational runbooks and shift turnover reports.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional experience in batch operations, production support, or a related function
- Experience with enterprise job scheduling / automation tools (e.g., CA Autosys or similar), including job dependencies, calendars, and event handling
- Familiarity with file transfer and back-office processing (e.g., SFTP, NDM) and associated controls (naming, timeliness, completeness)
- Fundamental understanding of Operating systems: Microsoft Windows, Linux, Unix
- Fundamental understanding of Storage concepts: NAS and general storage terminology
- Fundamental understanding of Networking and protocols: TCP, SSH, SFTP, HTTPS, and related connectivity concepts
- Experience with enterprise monitoring and alerting tools for applications and infrastructure
- Proven ability to multi-task and manage multiple concurrent incidents and requests in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Strong sense of urgency, ownership, and follow-through to drive issues to resolution within SLA
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences, including clients and external partners
- Team-oriented, 'must-get-it-done' attitude, especially during peak processing periods such as month-end and quarter-end
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to distinguish symptoms from root causes and document findings clearly
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent work experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
