Senior Data Engineer

Job Summary
Design and maintain scalable data ingestion pipelines on Google Cloud Platform using file-based, API-based, and Kafka patterns. Build analytical data products and models with DBT, ensuring reliability through testing and monitoring. Collaborate with platform and business teams to onboard new data sources and evolve domain-oriented solutions aligned with Data Mesh principles. Implement CI/CD workflows using GitHub and GitHub Actions. This long-term partnership offers remote work with occasional visits to the Sarajevo office, starting September 2026. You will work directly with ICA's engineering teams in Sweden, gaining access to their learning hub and onboarding workshops.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of professional data engineering experience
- Strong hands-on experience with DBT (must-have)
- Proven experience with file-based, API-based, and event-driven (Kafka) data ingestion
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines
- Strong understanding of analytical data modelling techniques (dimensional, denormalized, and domain-oriented models)
- Experience implementing CI/CD using GitHub and GitHub Actions
- Good understanding of Google Cloud Platform, including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, and Cloud Composer
- Practical understanding of Data Mesh concepts and domain-oriented data products
- Experience with Python and Java
- Experience working in Agile teams using Jira
- Fluent English communication skills
