Senior Data Engineer

Job Summary
As a Senior Data Engineer at PwC, you will design and implement scalable data solutions, oversee the development of data pipelines and platforms, and ensure data workflows are optimized for performance and reliability. This role involves engaging with stakeholders to translate business needs into data-driven solutions, supporting cross-functional initiatives, and driving innovation through the evaluation of new tools and methodologies. The ideal candidate should have expertise in data engineering, including hands-on experience with modern cloud technologies and strong communication skills with both technical and commercial stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline
- At least 5 years of experience in a data engineering role
- Proficient in Python and PySpark
- Hands-on experience with Databricks, Azure Data Factory, or Microsoft Fabric
- Strong SQL skills
- Deep understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL techniques, and data architecture
- Experience designing scalable data architectures
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
- Experience mentoring junior engineers
Desired Qualifications
- Related Microsoft Applied Skills or Microsoft Certifications such as Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate, Fabric Data Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Familiarity with Power BI for data visualisation and reporting
- Experience integrating AI capabilities into data platforms
- Experience with cloud cost optimization strategies for data workloads
