Job Summary
Senior Data Engineer at Okta responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data platforms using AWS, Snowflake, dbt, and Databricks; applying Infrastructure as Code with Terraform; managing CI/CD pipelines via GitHub and GitLab; engineering data pipelines to support AI/ML systems; applying data governance for data lineage, quality, and compliance; ensuring security and vulnerability management; exploring innovative tooling like data engineer agents to automate routine tasks; collaborating with product managers, UX designers, and other engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or another quantitative field of study
- 5+ years of professional experience in a data engineering or full-stack role
- SQL & ETL mastery with tools such as Airflow and dbt
- Relational/columnar MPP databases like Snowflake or Redshift
- Cloud infrastructure experience with AWS (S3, Lambda, EMR, EC2, EKS)
- Experience with lakehouse architectures (Databricks) and file formats like Iceberg and Delta
- Containerization with Docker and Kubernetes
- Excellent communication skills
