Senior Data Engineer

Job Summary
Build and maintain Bronze, Silver, and Gold data layers within Snowflake, designing models aligned to fund administration domains and implementing Streams, Tasks, and Stored Procedures for pipeline orchestration. Own data quality by establishing validation, monitoring, and alerting, while leveraging AI tooling as a default mode for generating transformation logic, scaffolding Python scripts, and automating documentation. Develop Streamlit applications for operational tooling and contribute to reusable, metadata-driven data factory patterns. Structure Gold layer outputs to serve downstream BI consumers and collaborate on master data management and data governance practices. Drive workstreams from requirement to production with minimal oversight, reporting to the Associate Director of Data Engineering.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on data engineering experience
- Deep practical Snowflake expertise
- Strong Python development
- Experience building Bronze/Silver/Gold medallion architectures or equivalent layered data warehouse patterns
- Ability to own workstreams independently and drive delivery without close management
Desired Qualifications
- SnowPro certification
- Hands-on experience with Fivetran or equivalent ELT tooling for source system ingestion
- Active use of AI-assisted development in data engineering delivery
- Experience with BI tooling — Power BI and/or Qlik
- Experience with data governance, data quality frameworks, and master data management
- Exposure to fund administration, private capital, or broader financial services environments
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and their application to financial services data
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams
