Job Summary
Senior Data Engineer needed to own the data layer delivery for Gen II’s DIP, building Bronze to Gold structures in Snowflake, designing data models for fund structures, investors, GL, NAV, and compliance, and enabling analytics and AI-driven services. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining Snowflake pipelines (Streams, Tasks, Stored Procedures), ensuring data quality and governance, ingesting data via Fivetran and Snowflake Secure Data Shares, and delivering AI-assisted development with code generation, test scaffolding, and documentation automation. You’ll build Python utilities and Streamlit apps for internal tooling, support BI enablement with Power BI and Qlik, and collaborate across data engineers, QA, BAs, and governance teams. Requirements include 5+ years in data engineering, Snowflake expertise, strong Python, experience with Bronze/Silver/Gold patterns, ELT tooling, AI-assisted delivery, BI tooling, data governance, and the ability to work independently in a hybrid office setting in NYC or Denver. Salary range is $140k-$170k plus bonus and benefits. This role is US-based with a flexible hybrid schedule requiring 1–4 days in the office per week.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on data engineering experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Deep practical Snowflake expertise — data modelling, SQL optimisation, Streams/Tasks/Stored Procedures, Secure Data Shares; SnowPro certification a plus
- Strong Python development — data processing scripts, utilities, and Streamlit applications
- Experience building Bronze/Silver/Gold medallion architectures or equivalent layered data warehouse patterns
- Hands-on experience with Fivetran or equivalent ELT tooling for source system ingestion desired
- Active use of AI-assisted development in data engineering delivery
- Experience with BI tooling — Power BI and/or Qlik
- Ability to own workstreams independently and drive delivery without close management
- Experience with data governance, data quality frameworks, and master data management (desirable)
- Exposure to fund administration, private capital, or broader financial services environments (desirable)
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and their application to financial services data (desirable)
- Strong communication skills
- Familiarity with Snowflake development environment and Streamlit applications
- Experience with data ingestion, validation, testing, and deployment pipelines
- Ability to collaborate with BI specialists and stakeholders
