Job Summary
Senior Data Engineer to build, optimize, and maintain data pipelines powering business intelligence, marketing, and data science research; design reusable data sets; develop federated data validation frameworks; champion data privacy and security to protect users; collaborate with teams across BI and data science; required expertise includes SQL, Python, Airflow, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Iceberg, Spark, and AWS, with a focus on healthcare data governance and HIPAA compliance. Based in NYC office with in-person cadence (3 days/week). Technologies used include Postgres/SQL, Snowflake, Python, AWS, Terraform, Argo, Airflow, Spark, DuckDB, Iceberg, Airbyte, DBT, ElasticSearch/OpenSearch, OpenTelemetry, Looker.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of software/data engineering experience (distributed data processing, data warehousing, data governance, Big Data, data variance, data privacy, and data quality)
- Expertise in SQL and Python
- Experience building scalable data pipelines, query optimization, data modeling, and defining reusable datasets
- Experience with orchestration tools (especially Airflow)
- Databases (PostgreSQL), datalakes (Iceberg), data warehouses (Snowflake)
- Familiarity with healthcare or insurance
- Knowledge of data security and HIPAA compliance
