Job Summary
Plan activities and concrete milestones to deliver the new Cloud Data Platform Architecture. Lead development and technical implementation aligned to the Data Platform Architecture while providing expertise in conceptual, logical, and physical data models, interoperability protocols, API design, and cybersecurity. Create data factory pipelines to ingest data, apply transformations using Databricks, and make data available for downstream applications or reporting. Automate the development lifecycle through scripts, functions, DevOps projects, and Azure Blueprints. Work with senior engineers to catalogue the current data landscape and develop the to-be Cloud Data Platform in conformance with security requirements. Provide short-term solution options and data insights to meet urgent demands. This long-term role for an International Institution in Geneva requires a fluent English speaker based in Europe.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master degree
- +5 years of relevant experience as Data Engineer
- Experience with modern Data technologies such as Business Intelligence, Analytics, AI, and Big Data
- Experience programming multiple languages, e.g. Phyton, R, Java, Scala, etc
- Professional level vendor certifications, such as Microsoft, ITIL, and others
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure and other cloud technologies and interoperable solutions
- Demonstrated experience in the design, development, and implementation of various integrations between diverse infrastructure services, data models and architecture
- Demonstrated experience with the IT systems development life cycle (SDLC), as well as Agile/Scrum methodologies and ITIL processes
- Ability to conduct requirements gathering, interpret needs, and design solutions and manage expectations
- Professional experience in technical design and support of global, distributed corporate information systems
- Understanding state of Azure, Google and AWS components and reference architectures
- Experience in designing for Bigdata/data warehousing/business intelligence/reporting solutions for various physical environments, both on-premises as well as in the Microsoft cloud
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Candidates need to be based in Europe
- Candidates need to be fluent in English
- Work permit not required
