Job Summary
Senior Data Engineer with PwC Poland’s FCU Technology Team will design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines and data platforms to support analytical and reporting solutions. Responsibilities include end-to-end data engineering (in ingestion, transformation, storage, and serving curated datasets), ETL/ELT pipeline development with Databricks and Delta Lake, data modeling, performance optimization, data quality and validation, collaboration with data analysts, BI developers and business stakeholders, contributing to architecture decisions, mentoring junior engineers, and participating in client-facing work while staying current with trends in data engineering, cloud technologies, and Anti Financial Crime domains.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree (preferably in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or similar)
- Commercial experience in data engineering, database development or data platform roles
- Strong understanding of ETL/ELT, data warehousing, and lakehouse architectures
- Hands-on experience with Databricks (Spark, SQL, Python)
- Delta Lake knowledge (ACID tables, schema evolution, incremental processing)
- SQL proficiency
- Python for data processing (pandas, PySpark)
- Cloud experience (Azure preferred)
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Excellent communication skills
- Fluent English
