Job Summary
Senior Data Engineer at Experian responsible for designing, building, testing, and deploying robust data pipelines and platforms. Lead data solutions development, collaborate with stakeholders to align technology with business goals, contribute to data modeling and architectural standards, and mentor peers. Role requires delivering scalable data products, automating deployment and operational readiness, and communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences in a fast-paced, agile environment. Core focus on cloud-native data engineering with AWS (RDS/Aurora, Redshift, S3, EC2, Lambda, SQS, SNS), Glue, EMR, Athena, and high-volume data workflows; strong SQL with PySpark/Python; emphasis on data modeling, data warehousing, data governance, security, and CI/CD practices.
Required Qualifications
- 5 to 7 years of experience in data engineering or related roles
- Strong expertise in cloud development, particularly with AWS services (Aurora PostgreSQL RDS, Redshift, S3, EC2, Lambda, SQS, SNS)
- Hands-on experience with AWS Glue, Amazon Data Firehose, EMR, and Athena in high-volume environments
- Expertise in SQL; proficiency in PySpark and Python
- Deep understanding of data platform paradigms and software/data architecture
- Understanding of data modeling principles and data warehousing techniques
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex performance issues with tools such as DataDog, CloudWatch, Splunk, dBeaver, and DataGrip
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and time management skills
- Experience working in agile, multi-project environments
- Preferred skills include Apache Iceberg, AWS Lake Formation, AWS DataZone, and CI/CD/DevOps practices
- Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance standards
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (application engineers, data scientists, product stakeholders) to deliver data solutions and pipelines
