Job Summary
Inventory and document existing Oracle databases, systems, and data assets while mapping data flows and dependencies across applications. Build and maintain metadata repositories, perform reverse engineering of schemas and ERDs, and design conceptual, logical, and physical data models. Conduct data profiling to assess quality, recommend cleansing strategies, and implement governance models ensuring GDPR compliance and role-based access controls. Design migration strategies for cloud initiatives, collaborate on ETL/ELT solutions, and advise on modern architectures like Data Vault and Data Mesh. This six-month contract in Amsterdam requires 8–10 years of experience and Dutch proficiency.
Required Qualifications
- 8–10 years of experience in data engineering, database administration, or data architecture
- Strong expertise in Oracle DBMS, including SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle Data Dictionary
- Hands-on experience with conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling
- Experience using Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler or similar reverse engineering tools
- Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT design and data migration strategies
- Proven experience implementing data governance frameworks with business and IT stakeholders
- Experience delivering data migration and integration projects within complex enterprise environments
- Solid understanding of data management, data architecture, and data analysis methodologies
- Knowledge of cloud migration projects involving Azure, AWS, or GCP
- Dutch: Required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with API integration, Kafka, Oracle GoldenGate, or similar technologies
- Familiarity with Data Vault, Dimensional Modeling, and Data Mesh concepts
- Experience working in hybrid cloud and enterprise data environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent stakeholder communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams
