Job Summary
Senior Data Engineer responsible for designing, building and maintaining reliable and scalable data infrastructure to move, process, and serve data; develops, deploys and maintains software to build, integrate, manage, maintain, and quality-assure data; adheres to software engineering best practices including CI/CD, testing, monitoring, code reviews, and documentation; ensures secure, compliant software and on-call reliability with SLAs; mentors others and collaborates with data, software, and business partners; required skills include OO languages (Python/Scala/Java/C#), SQL, distributed data systems, cloud platforms (AWS or Azure), Databricks (SPARK) or Palantir, data lifecycle technologies, and strong stakeholder management.
Required Qualifications
- BS degree in computer science or related field
- Deep and hands-on experience designing, planning, building, productionizing, maintaining and documenting reliable and scalable data infrastructure and data products in complex environments
- Development experience in one or more object-oriented programming languages (e.g. Python, Scala, Java, C#)
- Advanced database and SQL knowledge
- Experience designing and implementing large-scale distributed data systems
- Deep knowledge and hands-on experience in technologies across all data lifecycle stages
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to lead initiatives through technical influence
- Continuous learning and improvement mindset
