Job Summary
Design scalable data pipelines and lakehouse architectures on Databricks while implementing Unity Catalog for governance, access control, and lineage. Build and maintain knowledge graphs using RDF and OWL standards, alongside Neo4j solutions for relationship-driven data use cases. Develop ontologies and taxonomies to ensure consistent data interpretation, then translate business processes into architecture diagrams for cross-team visibility. Collaborate with stakeholders to align models with organizational needs and optimize pipelines for performance and reliability. Ensure data quality across ingestion, transformation, and storage layers while supporting integration with downstream AI/ML applications.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong foundation in building production-grade data pipelines
- Hands-on experience with Databricks for data processing, transformation, and analytics workloads
- Experience implementing data governance and cataloging using Unity Catalog
- Practical experience with RDF and OWL for knowledge representation and ontology development
- Hands-on experience with Neo4j or other graph database technologies
- Experience designing semantic models and understanding of graph theory concepts
- Proficiency in diagramming and process mapping tools such as Visio and Miro
- Strong SQL skills and experience with Python or Scala for data engineering tasks
- Solid understanding of data modeling principles (relational, dimensional, and graph-based)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data relationships into clear architectural designs
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work across technical and business teams
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with SPARQL query language for RDF data
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and their data services
- Experience integrating semantic/graph data with AI, ML, or GenAI applications
- Knowledge of metadata management and enterprise data governance frameworks
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
