Job Summary
Senior Data Engineer responsible for designing scalable data models and transformation frameworks, developing and maintaining data pipelines in BigQuery and Dataform/dbt, implementing Medallion-style architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Semantic layers), and driving data quality, governance, and development standards to support analytics and future AI initiatives. The role involves migrating legacy ETL processes, reviewing code, and collaborating with technical stakeholders to lay a foundation for AI/ML initiatives. Must reside in the Atlanta, GA metro area and be willing to work onsite as a W-2 contract opportunity with potential conversion to full-time.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of data engineering experience in production environments
- Strong SQL and data modeling expertise
- Experience with BigQuery, Dataform, dbt, or similar cloud data platforms
- Python development experience
- Experience with AI, LLM, MCP, or agent-based technologies
- Experience building and maintaining enterprise-scale data pipelines
- Strong understanding of dimensional modeling and data warehouse design
- Experience with Git, code reviews, and modern development practices
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical deliverables
