Job Summary
Senior Engineer, Data Center Operations to lead site-level operations in a high-density, mission-critical environment. Role blends hands-on technical work with leadership in preventative maintenance, customer service, and systems optimization. Responsible for uptime, efficiency, and compliance; mentoring junior staff; and driving continuous improvements across facilities and IT operations. Core duties include equipment installation and cabling, overseeing preventative maintenance and audits, incident escalation and resolution, operating Building Management Systems (BMS) and CMMS, data-driven performance tuning, documenting SOPs and procedures, coordinating with facilities and customer success teams, and supporting capacity planning for new deployments.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of data center or mission-critical facility operations experience
- hands-on field work in data center environments
- experience with Building Management Systems (BMS), Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), ticketing, and monitoring tools
- strong incident leadership and decision-making capabilities
- ability to mentor junior technicians and work with cross-functional teams
- experience coordinating stakeholders and communicating during high-pressure events
- familiarity with SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs for preventative maintenance and operational readiness
- ability to analyze data to inform capacity planning and optimization
- excellent written and verbal communication skills with customers and internal teams
