Job Summary
Senior Data Center Facilities Operations Manager needed to oversee a 7x24x365 critical data center facility in Sumner, WA. Responsibilities include site walk-throughs to ensure SOPs/MOPs adherence, identifying vulnerabilities with a 3rd party onsite team, communicating operation status to senior management and customers, site acceptance and commissioning to meet Company Standards, liaising between contracted vendors and customers, developing and approving MOPs for data hall work, participating in interviews for prospective candidates, auditing installed data center components, and providing strategic leadership on best practices for performance and reliability of systems such as medium voltage switchgear, diesel generators, UPS, PDU, CRAC, chillers, and building monitoring systems. The role also entails supervising on-site management and vendors, obtaining and reviewing vendor bids, managing customer relationships, establishing performance benchmarks, coordinating projects with business leaders, and ensuring 99.999% uptime readiness. Education and experience requirements include 10-15+ years in data center/critical facilities operations, at least 5 years of leadership, a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, and strong communication and project management skills. Military veteran experience with electrical/mechanical backgrounds is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- 10-15+ years of data center / critical facility operations and maintenance experience
- Minimum 5 years leadership experience in data center facility operations, supervising or managing a technical staff
- Previous experience as a Data Center Facility Manager a must
- Solid Understanding of Critical Electrical and Mechanical / HVAC equipment (UPS, Generators, Switchgears, PDU's, CRAC Units, Chillers)
- Budget / P/L responsibility
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent directly related experience
- Good presentation skills in leading meetings (conference and in person)
- Superior analytical, planning and problem resolution skills
- Knowledge of Company Services and operations
- Experience with various computer systems and applications
- Highly organized with proven project management abilities; ability to multitask, establish priorities, manage conflicts
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Previous experience in the Military / Military veterans in all branches that have experience with Electrical / Mechanical is a huge plus
