Job Summary
Senior Data Architect responsible for leading the development and delivery of data software products, managing Kanban/SAFe workflows, and designing enterprise data architectures to support business objectives. Lead data software development methodologies, define and prioritize the team backlog, translate requirements into scalable data solutions, develop data models, support data integration efforts, participate in QA/UAT, and pursue innovative data solutions. Requires extensive experience across data management, modeling, governance, SQL/PLSQL, PySpark, Databricks, cloud data services (Redshift, Snowflake, RDS), Hadoop ecosystem, ETL concepts, and effective collaboration with stakeholders. Travel up to 10% within NY/NJ/PA; strong communication and leadership skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years IT experience
- 10+ years experience as a Data Architect, data engineer, or data professional
- Solid grasp of data architecture principles, patterns, data modeling and data governance
- Expert relational database concepts; experience with SQL, NoSQL, Oracle, Hadoop, Postgres
- Proficiency with data modelling tools (Erwin) and strong logical/physical data modeling
- Hands-on data engineering experience with SQL and PySpark on Databricks
- Experience designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines and large-scale data warehousing architectures
- Experience with cloud data services (Redshift, RDS, Snowflake, Databricks)
- Experience with data sourcing, profiling, data mapping and data analysis
- Strong SQL, PL/SQL; ability to optimize queries and data structures
- Knowledge of ETL concepts (Informatica or Syncsort preferred)
- Experience with SQL-on-Hadoop technologies (Hive, Presto, Spark SQL, Databricks) and Hadoop ecosystem
- Ability to design cloud and on-premise data solutions; familiarity with storage, big data platforms, vendor SaaS integrations, RDBMS and NoSQL databases
- Excellent written and verbal communication; creative problem-solving
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities; effective cross-level communication
- SAFe experience; ability to work on cross-functional, self-organizing teams
- Significant experience interfacing with customers and management across business and IT
